Shawn Heins has a very powerful slapshot. In a minor league all-star game this past season he broke Al Iafrate's pro hockey record for the fastest slapsot. In the skills competition he shot a 106 mph slapshot. He is also very aggressive and physical. Heins was never drafted. When the Sharks signed him, several other teams wanted him to. But Shawn chose San Jose. He was invited to the Sharks training camp last year. He was told he needed to work on his speed and agility. In the same skills competition last year, he won the fastest skater competition.
