The trade for the 21st overall pick that turned out to be Sturm was probably one of Lombardi's best draft day trades. Marco Sturm has quickly turned into one of the top defensive forwards in the NHL and one of the Sharks best young forwards. He can play any forward position. In the 1999 All-Star Game he came in 2nd in the fastest skater competition (Peter Bondra won by about .01 seconds.) His offense could use some work but his defense is always there. By the time he hits his prime he could be similar to a faster Mike Ricci.
