St. Louis Vipers 8, Anaheim Bullfrogs 6
St. Louis upset the heavily favored Anaheim Bullfrogs. Chad Seibel (a Bullfrogs defenseman) probably cost his team the Murphy Cup when he kneed Ryan Aikia less than 5 minutes into the game. He received a major penalty and a game misconduct. On that power play St. Louis scored 3 goals that would later help them. Aikia left the game with a charley horse. After that the action was back and forth until the 4th quarter. At the start of the 2nd half the refs wouldn't come back onto the court. The game was delayed for about 5 minutes. They refused to come back out until they were paid (the league went broke August 1st.) The game was tied 6-6 until the puck went behind Anaheim's net. Rob Laurie went wandering behind the net and handed the puck to Ben Gorewich. Gorewich then put the puck in.
